The Transport Law Commission is delighted to invite you to Genoa for this seminar on Insurance and Maritime Law. The purpose of our seminar is to bring you fully up to date with some of the latest developments and challenges in the maritime
insurance world thus putting you in the best position to advise on the
main issues arising in the fast moving maritime insurance industry. Most
of you will have heard about the early adoption of the new United
Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Carriage of Goods
Wholly or Partly by Sea (the so called “Rotterdam Rules”) but what are
the differences from the Hague Visby Rules which will change the
recovery action of cargo underwriters against the maritime carrier? And furthermore, which are the recent developments in the Protection and Indemnity insurance market? How the current hottest issues in the maritime insurance world, such as piracy, off shore projects and pollution are dealt by, both in practice and academically? The
scientifi c program will appeal to experienced as well as young
transport, maritime and insurance lawyers and to professionals in the
