Most of you will have heard about the early adoption of the new United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Carriage of Goods Wholly or Partly by Sea (the so called “Rotterdam Rules”) but what are the differences from the Hague Visby Rules which will change the recovery action of cargo underwriters against the maritime carrier? And furthermore, which are the recent developments in the Protection and Indemnity insurance market? How the current hottest issues in the maritime insurance world, such as piracy, off shore projects and pollution are dealt by, both in practice and academically? The scientific program will appeal to experienced as well as young transport, maritime and insurance lawyers and to professionals in the maritime insurance field. We have lined up some very high profile speakers from local and foreign distinguished law fi rms and important professionals from insurance companies and P&I clubs who will deliver dynamic and practical presentations. The event will take place at the Museum of the Sea, located in the ancient port of Genoa, one of the most charming and visited area of the city.
