North Sea Festival II - The Challenges of Becoming International

Antwerp

28 - 29 April 2006

This seminar is principally aimed at lawyers and in-house counsel who have been in practice for approximately 4-8 years. The seminar can be regarded as a sequel to the first North Sea Festival, held in The Hague last year, but it will certainly also be attractive to those who did not attend the first festival. During this seminar we will discuss the specific issues which an expanding business may encounter, including potential conflicts and the available related remedies. We will focus on the corporate law aspects of expanding the business to other countries, on cross- border employment agreements and the social security, tax law aspects and on transport aspects (how to connect your overseas business?). Furthermore we will discuss the question of at what stage during the development of a company, might it be advisable to have in-house counsel instead or in addition to external lawyers, as well as the question of at what time an entrepreneur becomes or must turn himself into a manager. All these issues will be considered with input from the North Sea area countries, namely the UK, Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany. Although the input is mostly from these countries, the issues will be relevant in many other countries too. We are very pleased to invite you to the North Sea Festival Seminar.
