The power of diversity and inclusion
10 September 2020 14:30 - 16:00 CEST
At AIJA's Annual Congress we learned how to identify and counteract bias and discussed different types of bias that women lawyers often face, including performance bias, attribution bias, likeability bias, maternal bias, affinity bias, double discrimination and intersectionality.
At AIJA, we are lawyers from different backgrounds who come together for the best networking and the best learning experiences. Every connection you make is an opportunity for business, new ideas and exchanges, as well as lifelong friendships. Therefore Diversity and Inclusion is at the heart of who we are as an association. It is our belief that Diversity and Inclusion spark innovation, creativity, collaboration and partnership. They are vital to our long-term sustainability as a global association. It will help us to shape the future of the legal profession in line with our motto #WeAreAIJA.
To move this discussion forward, we would like to invite you to the webinar "The Power of diversity and inclusion", hosted by Korn Ferry. Attending this webinar builds on the issues raised during the inaugural AIJA Women session to help you to understand your own biases and their impact on those around you to do or not do their best work. We will explore the broad range of human differences and similarities, and how they shape a work environment. It shows how to create an environment where curiosity about differences is encouraged and where inclusion is the mutual responsibility of all employees.
Together we will dive into:
- What does Diversity & Inclusion mean?
- Why is it important (in our sector)?
- What gets in the way?
- How can you advocate D&I efforts?
We look forward to welcoming you at the virtual interactive workshop "The power of diversity and inclusion" on 10 September 2020 from 14:30 to 16:00 CEST. Together we will equip you to create and foster a culture in which differences are welcome and diverse perspectives are sought out with intention.
The workshop is organised by AIJA Immediate Past President Paola Fudakowska, AIJA SCILL Commission Friederike Henke, and AIJA Diversity Officer Matt Cullen.
