Event Overview

Transport and logistics in a competitive market: legal challenges and opportunities

The conference will provide an in-depth exploration of the legal, regulatory, and market dynamics shaping the transport and logistics industry. We will explore old and new competition law challenges in the transport and logistics industry, which has previously been subject to strict scrutiny from antitrust authorities worldwide.
At the same time, the conference will address core transport law issues, taking into account the different liability regimes applicable in maritime, road, air and rail transport, and their interaction within increasingly complex multimodal supply chains. Particular attention will be paid to the contractual allocation of risk , the evolving practices of carriers and freight forwarders , and the growing vertical integration of logistics operators.
Key topics of discussion will include the digital transformation of transportation systems , -notably the dematerialization of transport documents- the integration of sustainable practices within logistics, and the challenges of regulatory compliance in an increasingly complex global landscape.
Additionally, experts will analyse the geopolitical factors that impact global supply chains, assessing their influence on trade routes, transport corridors, investment decisions, market stability, and the strategic decision-making of industry stakeholders. Through insightful panel discussions, case studies, and expert presentations, attendees will gain a comprehensive understanding of the evolving legal and economic framework governing transport and logistics, and the opportunities and challenges it presents.
As a historic academic center and a modern gateway to the EU’s busiest transport corridors, Kraków offers a unique 'living laboratory' for these discussions, where centuries of legal tradition meet the cutting edge of European logistics. This seamless blend of world-class infrastructure and high-tech innovation ensures that delegates can engage in rigorous antitrust debate within one of Central Europe’s most dynamic and accessible business environments
