Event Overview

Please note that the early bird period has been extended until February 16th!
The AIJA Tax Law Commission proudly presents its second Annual Tax Conference, this time taking place in Brussels. The Annual AIJA Tax Conference is a 100% tax event, focusing on the interests of Young Tax Lawyers. The purpose of this seminar is to bring you fully up to date with the latest developments on international and domestic tax matters, introduced both by outstanding speakers from e.g. international and governmental organizations, universities, as by interactive panel discussions between participants. The Annual AIJA Tax Conference provides a platform for discussions between participants and for presentations of the latest developments in participants’ countries. The program will also cover skill training on international tax advising, this time to be delivered by the International Bureau for Fiscal Documentation (IBFD). The first Annual Tax Conference has proven to be a very successful format in bringing Young Tax Lawyers together, enhancing their skills and knowledge in (international) tax law and expanding their network and friendships, like AIJA is known. This concept will be continued for the coming Annual Tax Conferences. The Seminar Hotel will be the SAS Radisson, located in the Centre of Brussels and known with AIJA from its 45th Birthday Party. The Scientific Program with excellent speakers on International Tax Topics will commence on Friday February 27th, 2009 at noon, in order to enable all participants to travel in the morning to Brussels. On Friday evening a cocktail and dinner will be organized at the Tour & Taxis complex in Brussels, sponsored by the Tiberghien law firm. On Saturday morning the internal program will take place with skill training and a round table discussion about the latest developments in international and domestic tax matters. The 2-day seminar will conclude with a joint lunch in the Centre of Brussels. If you are a tax lawyer, make sure that you register as soon as possible. If you aren’t, persuade your tax colleagues to participate. This is a perfect opportunity to get introduced in the AIJA network of Tax Lawyers, but don’t wait too long as the Annual Tax Conference is only open for a limited number of participants for the sake of interactivity.
