Self-Declaration of Eligibility for Membership in AIJA – International Association of Young Lawyers

I, hereby declare that I meet the eligibility criteria for membership in AIJA as outlined in Article 7 (individual members), 8bis (supporting members) or 9 (future members) of the AIJA Bylaws, as applicable.

I declare that I meet the criteria for one of the following membership statuses (please tick the applicable box):

I am a lawyer aged 45 or below and a member of a recognised bar association or a similar official institution in a jurisdiction where no bar association exists

I am aged 45 or below and hold a university degree in law that qualifies me for bar association membership, and I am currently practicing law as an in-house counsel within a private, public, or non-profit organisation.

I am registered as a law student with a recognised educational institution, which, upon successful completion of studies, will allow me access to a bar association and practising law

Accuracy of Information, Commitment to Update Status and Membership Fees

By signing this declaration, I certify that all information provided herein is accurate and truthful to the best of my knowledge. I understand and accept the following:

  • I commit to informing AIJA of any change in my status during the membership year.
  • If my status no longer qualifies me for membership, I accept that my membership may be revoked
