Event Overview

The IPTMT Commission is hosting a Porto themed online session. Porto seminar was planned for October 2020 but due to the current circumstances it has been postponed to October 2021. Therefore, we have put together an exciting session to have a sneak peek of what the actual seminar will look like.

Firstly, we will be listening to two excellent speakers: Jose Varanda, partner at Areias Advogados in Lisbon; and Dr. Nuno Sousa e Silva, attorney at PTCS Advogados, who has represented several of the most well known Geographical Indications.

They will be dealing in the session with geographical indications and traditional specialties. Moreover, will learn about the history of Port wine and a recent case law.

We will close this session with the AIJA spirit. Therefore, we recommend you all to get some Port Wine, Portuguese wine, or delicatessen.

Here you have some recommendations of Portuguese wine and Porto wine: Taylor’s; Graham’s; Fonseca; Niepoort: Cockburn’s; Dow’s; Calem; Porto Cruz; Quinta do Noval; Sandeman; Offley…
