Join the AIJA Women Network for our first-ever retreat in the Americas — a four-day gathering designed for connection, reflection, and renewal, set at the Blue Apple Beach hotel in Tierra Bomba island, just 20 minutes from the luminous shores of Cartagena. This intimate retreat in Caribbean paradise brings together women from across the legal profession to slow down, nurture wellbeing, and build meaningful relationships in a setting rooted in authenticity and joy.

Blue Apple Beach is more than a boutique island escape — it is a model of sustainable, regenerative hospitality. The property reinvests in local social and environmental initiatives, prioritizes local employment and training, avoids single-use plastics, minimizes waste, greatly relies on solar power, conducts waste management and recycling through its Green Apple Foundation, runs a community fund for Bocachica as the village next door, and actively manages programs to restore endangered ecosystems on the island. Staying here means participating in a space intentionally built for positive community and ecological impact.
This retreat is limited to 26 participants, available on a first-come, first-served basis to ensure an intimate and high-quality experience.
The registration fee with AIJA is USD $100, which includes the speaking costs and will offset some of the expenses.
There is an additional fee to be paid directly with the hotel for USD $900. The fee includes:

Participants will be welcome to indicate their shared room preferences upon registration, if any —whether a double or triple room, and if to share with a specific person— and we will do our best to try to accommodate these requests if possible. However, please note that final room assignments will be ultimately determined based on overall availability and logistical needs.
Saturday night dinner will be held at a restaurant outside Blue Apple Beach. Each participant will cover her own cost for this meal on site.

Retreat Highlights
Space to Breathe, Chill & Connect
Throughout the retreat, we’ve built intentional downtime to relax, unwind, and deepen our connections with one another. Enjoy a welcome drink and tapas, and an energizing morning yoga session overlooking the sea; gather around a beach bonfire under the stars for conversation and warmth, and dance or simply lounge during a DJ-hosted afternoon. These shared moments are at the heart of the experience — where friendships are built, ideas are exchanged, and community flourishes.
Into Fermentation
Join Blue Apple’s head chef to explore the ancient craft of fermentation — a practice rooted in patience, nature, and connection. Discover how simple ingredients become vibrant, living foods as you breathe in the rhythm of the sea.
Bocachica Village Tour
Take a short motorbike taxi ride to the nearby village of Bocachica. Wander its colorful streets, visit the historic San Fernando fortress. It’s an authentic glimpse into everyday island life.
Dance Class
We will have a dance class to the rhythm of salsa, champeta (a local dance, inspired by this Afro-Colombian style of music) or improving our zumba skills.
This retreat is an invitation to step away from the rush of daily life, reconnect with yourself, strengthen bonds with inspiring women from around the world, and experience the Caribbean and Latin American soul through culture, creativity, movement, and rest — all within a venue committed to genuine social and environmental impact.
We can’t wait to share this historic first AWN retreat in the Americas with you — a milestone gathering designed to deepen our network, strengthen our bonds, and celebrate the power of women supporting women.
