Who we are
Our Commission engages on topics related to cross-border disputes and understanding how theory and practice vary across different jurisdictions. To this end, we also seek to host technical seminars in strategic locations in the Americas, Asia, Africa and across Europe.
Our seminars cover a wide range of substantive areas including commercial litigation, fraud and white-collar crimes, agency and distribution disputes, banking and regulatory matters, employment claims, anti-trust disputes and contentious insolvency, as well as procedural, evidentiary and venue issues. We often work with other AIJA Commissions or external partners to organise joint events. Our commission holds a few events each year and as of 2019, will be launching the Annual Litigation Conference with the goal of having this event be the biggest annual event on the commission’s calendar where its members can get together among litigators.
The Commission meets to discuss past and future events three times a year, at the annual International Young Lawyers’ Congress in August and two other AIJA conferences in May and November. We also publish a biannual newsletter.
